100k Drop Slot Review

Look and Feel

The 100k Drop Slot is a 5 reel, 3 row slot with 20 paylines by Red Tiger. It is based on the UK game show ‘The 100k Drop’, as hosted by Davina McCall. In the show contestants split bundles of money (starting with £100,000) over trapdoors labelled with the potential answers to questions. At the end of each question the trapdoors for wrong answers are opened and the cash drops, gone forever!

At the end of the show whatever cash the contestants have left (if any!) is theirs to keep. This slot brings you all the excitement of playing the 100k Drop yourself!

Jackpot

This game does not have a progressive jackpot. You could though win a maximum 2,000 coins on a single spin. As the maximum coin size is £2 (maximum single bet size is £40), that’s a potential maximum win of £4,000. This is achieved by landing five ‘Davina’ symbols with various multipliers.

Play for Real Money

If you’re in the UK you cannot play a 100k Drop demo game due to UKGC restrictions, unless you are a member of an online casino. There are plenty of places you can play the 100k Drop for real money though, including many recommended by us here at JustSlots. We really like Playzee casino, and think you will too! Rules

The minimum accepted bet size in this game is £0.20, and the maximum is £40. There are 20 paylines and all 20 are in play at all times. This means you pay twenty coins per spin.

The ‘Davina’ symbol is wild in this game and it substitutes for all other symbols aside from the bonus game scatter symbol. The ‘Bonus’ symbol acts as a scatter in this game and landing three anywhere on the reels triggers the bonus game.

Wins are earned by landing a minimum of three identical symbols on a payline from the left-hand side only. Wins are paid as the number of coins as indicated by the following table:

The only bonus feature is the 100k drop bonus game, which is awarded should you be lucky enough to land three bonus symbols anywhere on the reels.

The bonus game is a re-imagining of the 100k Drop quiz game, but without any questions. You are simply awarded an amount of cash equivalent to 2,000x your stake which you must then distribute across four trapdoors. Use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ arrows on each trapdoor to decide how much cash to distribute. Once you have distributed all the money you have ten seconds to hit ‘confirm’. Once you’ve done that, one-by-one, all bar one of the trapdoors will release, sending the cash you’ve placed there to oblivion!

This continues for four rounds, but each round has an added complication. In rounds one and two one trapdoor must be empty. In round three there are only three trapdoors and one of them must be empty, and in round four there are only two trapdoors, and one of them must remain empty!

It really is pure chance if you have any cash left at the end of the bonus round, so you have to keep your fingers crossed that all your cash won’t drop so you never see it again!

Graphics and Sounds

There are not that many sounds during the gameplay, but that’s only because there’s really no need for there to be. It’s just a case of the odd musical sting, plus some heart-pumping sounds whenever the 100k Drop game is played.

This game is played with an audience too. They clap politely whenever you achieve any kind of win, then go slightly mad when the 100k Drop game is announced. If you are successful during the game they go slightly bonkers too, but if you end up with nothing they go all quiet.

The graphics used are more ‘just effective’ than anything else.  You get a neon-style theme with the odd searchlight and sparkle to add to the ‘TV Quiz Show’ motif. It could all have been done better, but it could have been a lot worse too. It gets a thumbs up from us, anyhow.

Conclusion

We have to confess that we think this is a fairly standard game with one bonus – the 100k Drop game. We would have preferred it if there was some element of skill in this bonus feature, but it’s all just down to good or bad fortune. It’s very hard to win a lot of cash playing the bonus game, and you usually end up with a bit of cash, or nothing at all.

This is one game that lovers of the £100k Drop TV show will love though. If you are one of them, or if you just want to see how the games plays, sign up out one of our recommended casinos pronto!
