Annihilator

Look and Feel

It is time to rock out with Annihilator, an April 2020 music-themed release from the chillin’ and thrillin’ software house that is Play’n GO. This is the latest rocking slot from the Play’n GO stable, following on from House of Doom and Sabaton. Annihilator are a band … we’ve never heard of, to be honest. Apparently they are a Canadian thrash metal band that have been around since 1984! They are fronted by Jeff Waters, a guitarist who has been cited as an influence by such greats as Slipknot and Megadeth. Oh, and Nickelback too but don’t let that put you off from enjoying this rocking slot!

Jackpot

Annihilator does not feature a progressive jackpot of any description. The maximum payout is achieved by landing five wild symbols which will win you 40 times your bet size. This can be increased though by landing multipliers and multi-line wins to the maximum of £500,000.

Play for Real Money

If you want to rock out with Annihilator for play money in the UK, then you’re going to be out of luck. This is down to UKGC regulations. You may be lucky and find an online casino that allows you to play ‘for free’ once you have signed up with them. One of JustSlots’ favourite rocking slots sites with Play’n GO titles is BetVictor. Rules

Annihilator has 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines. Starting the rocking is easy – all you need to do is select your bet size from £0.10 to £100.00. Each spin costs ten coins (as there are ten pay lines), so your coin size can be set at anything from £0.01 to £10.00 per spin.

You score wins the usual way – three or more identical symbols on a payline in sequence, starting from the left-hand reel. Wins are paid as multiples of your coin size, in line with the table below:

The Devil himself is a scatter symbol in this game. Three of him anywhere on the reels will trigger the ‘Set the World on Fire’ side game with 8 free spins.

A creepy-looking child in a doorway acts as a bonus symbol and activates the ‘Fun Palace’ side game. This awards cash prizes and the chance to trigger the ‘Set the World on Fire’ side game.

A thrashing Jeff Waters symbol acts as the wild in Annihilator and substitutes for all symbols aside from the scatter symbol and the bonus symbol. On random spins his Jeff-ness expands to fill the entire reel and make it wild. When this happens the reels will keep spinning until you land a win.

With the ‘Fun Palace’ feature a number of hanging dolls appear. You select dolls, which will then reveal multipliers. If you find Satan, then you land the ‘Set the World on Fire’ game. Keep selecting dollies until the feature ends.

During the bonus feature, reel one will begin as an expanding wild. It will then move across the reels with each free spin, leaving a trail of symbols on fire. If you land another scatter during your freebies two more free spins are added, up to a maximum of 50. If a wild lands on a fiery symbol during free spins the entire reel will turn wild.

Graphics and Sounds

All of Annihilator’s top tunes are available during this game. Indeed, you can even select the tune that you want to play from the following options:

  • Never, Neverland
  • Alison Hell
  • Word Salad
  • Stonewall
  • Nozone
  • King of the Kill
  • 21
  • Psycho

Of course, how you feel about these musical options depends upon how you feel about Annihilator as a band, and thrash metal music in general. We at JustSlots prefer dubstep, so we can’t really comment other than the music fits in with the slots theme.

The creepiness of this game is ramped up a few notches with the graphics used. The general hard rocking theme is maintained as the symbols spin around and randomly set on fire. In fact there’s a chance your PC, laptop, tablet or phone will overheat as there is so much heat in evidence, so make sure you have a fire extinguisher on hand when you play.

Mr Waters makes several cameos in this online slots game, thrashing his axe like a good ‘un.

Conclusion

Rock on! We at JustSlots are not usually a fan of music-themed slots, but this game certainly changed our minds. It’s a fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled slot that’s jammed with excellent features. It also sounds absolutely killing, and we adore the fact you can select from eight tracks while you are playing. An awesome slot then from Play’n GO which we feel you will not just play, and then go!
