Look and Feel

Arthur’s Fortune is a traditional-looking online slot from Yggdrasil Gaming with three rows, five reels and a fixed number of 20 paylines. For the theme of this slot we have go back to medieval England, or at least the medieval England of myths and legends. The Arthur in this slot’s title is the fabled King Arthur, who never actually existed. He was a mythical king famed for seating his knights at a round table, which was meant to show that he considered everyone to be equal. Some people believe that Arthur did actually exist, but historical experts say that much of his folklore was invented by a French writer called Chretian de Troyes.

Jackpot

There is usually no progressive jackpot attached to this slot. The game still features a favourable jackpot, the maximum win from which is 10,850 times your stake. As the max stake is £100 then a possible win in excess of £1,000,000 is achievable, but you’ll find the casino at which you are playing the game will set their own limits as to what can be won.

Play for Real Money

There will be no casinos that offer Arthur’s Fortune for play money purposes in the UK because of the rules put in place by the Gambling Commission. Playing this slot for real money should be a breeze, though. There will be plenty of casinos in the UK that will carry this game, including the Betsafe Casino. We at JustSlots recommend that you seek out this online slot palace, checking for the latest newbie deals when you do.

All symbols in this game can be converted to a wild in the base game or during free spins. All wilds substitute for all other symbols and have their own payouts. There is also the scatter wild which can trigger free spins.

The main feature in this game is the Arthur’s Gold Feature, in which up to a maximum of 10 symbols may be converted to wild symbols during any base game spin. You need to land at least three scatter wilds to earn free spins. For three scatters you receive seven free spins plus one symbol is converted to a wild. With four it’s ten spins plus two conversions and with five it’s 14 free spins with three symbol conversions.

If you land at least two scatters during free spins you add to your spins, and more symbols are converted to wilds. Just subtract one from the number of scatters you landed to work out how many free spins will be added, and how many normal symbols are converted to wilds.

If you land the ‘globe’ symbol on the final free then you awarded additional payouts. This can occur in either the base game or during free spins. During the base game you may be awarded a maximum of 500 coins, seven to 15 free spins and one to three wild conversions. In free spins you may be awarded up to 1,000 coins plus between one and 14 free spins.

Graphics and Sounds

Those people who were born in medieval England and are still around will enjoy the soundtrack of this game. It’s a gorgeous piece of music that would not have seemed out of place if played during one of those rare happy moments during A Game of Thrones … usually just before everyone was slaughtered. It ramps up a bit as well during play, with thunderous drums and other aspects of percussion.

As far as eye candy goes, while this slot does look the business it’s a little lacking in thrills. The symbols roll around, but that’s about it. There are tiny aspects of animation when you win, but nothing to get the pulse racing.

Conclusion

This slot from Yggdrasil just about does its job but very, very little else. It doesn’t look old-fashioned, but it kind of is. If you prefer simpler slots from simpler times, then this game is for you.
