Beat the House Review

Look and Feel

Beat the House is a 5-reel, 4-row slot with 40 paylines from High5Games, powered by their patented Vault5 slots software. This is a music-themed slot that’s meant to transport you to a dance event when hundreds of revellers are getting down to some electro-sounds. We are not sure why High5Games did not call this game ‘Beat da House’ as we think that would have been a much better title. Don’t worry if your musical preferences do not stretch far beyond folk music or jazz as the music involved in this game will not drown your sensitive ears with sound!

Jackpot

You will not beat the house completely if you play this slot as it does not possess a progressive jackpot. We’ve consulted our slotting experts who’ve informed us that the maximum you can win while playing is 2,000 times your total bet.

Play for Real Money

Appropriately, we are not going to change the record about this game. If you are in the UK, you won’t be able to play Beat the House for free or play money. There are plenty of places to play for real cash though, including Dunder Casino. This is one of our favourite sites, and if you register there make sure you check out any bonus offers that are available.

Rules

For the chance to Beat the House you must of course play the game! To start it all off, choose your bet size, which can be anything from £0.20 to £100.00. Each spin of this game costs 20 coins, so your potential coin size can be anything from £0.01 to £5.00.

Winning is achieved as you’d expect – three or more identical symbols on a payline from left-to-right, from the left-hand reel onwards. Wins are paid as coins, as indicated by the following table:

The feature to look for in this game is the thick frame. If you land one, then the frame will leave behind a thinner frame. All wins that contain a symbol within a frame are doubled.

If you manage to land an entire reel of thick frames on any one spin then the wholen reel will become wild, and the wilds will lock in place for the next three spins. All wild symbols substitute for all other symbols used within the game.

A locked wild will also activate the reel. Once you have activated all five reels you are awarded free games. All reels are now deactivated, and you are awarded ten free spins. Different reels now come into play. You cannot trigger more free games during the free games round, and the feature ends when you have no free games remaining.

During your free games bonus round, one or more reels will become completely wild. You may also receive a wild with a x2 multiplier.

If you land a minimum of three scatter symbols during play you will trigger the pick bonus game. You will receive between four and six tiers. You must select from four symbols upon each reel. A blue symbol awards the cash amount, while a green symbol also awards the cash amount but will advance you along one tier. On the final reel you will reveal either a red symbol which ends the round, or a purple symbol which doubles what you have won so far. Once you’ve found a red symbol the bonus round is over, and you are awarded the cash you have amassed.

Graphics and Sounds

As this is a music-based slot, then you might be surprised when you start this slot up and the music is little more than a phased arp. However, the more you play this slot the better the music becomes! Once you have achieved a few wins the drums kick in, and then the bassline until you are listening to the fully-fledged ‘Beat the House’ rave – and a jolly spiffing tune it be too!

The rest of the sounds – thumps and chimes – fit in nicely with the game as well, as do the graphics. This is a kind of neon-themed slot that you’ve seen many a time before in the slotting universe. There is a decent amount of eye candy, although not in a way that’s eye-watering. This is a fast-paced slot, so wisely High5Games have chosen not to go overboard on animations which otherwise might slow the pace of the game down.

Conclusion

Whether you are a raver, disco king or beats junkie you are sure to enjoy this colourful, fast-paced slot which has a decent amount of energy. It’s one of the best games we’ve seen so far from High5Games, and we encourage you to try it at one of our recommended online casinos.
