Cash Stax Review

Look and Feel

Cash Stax slot is a Barcrest slot and if you’ve ever played Barcrest slots before you’ll recognise the look and feel. With the general appearance of a game of noughts and crosses, this is a great game for players who enjoy the simplicity of a classic slot with minimal symbols.

There are only three paying symbols in the base game, but this doesn’t mean more chances of winning, as Cash Stax uses blanks to fill in the rest of the reels in the form of white rings. The result is a slot that’s more utilitarian looking than aesthetically pleasing.

Main Features

Cash Stax slot is a five-reel, three row slot with 10 fixed paylines and its simplicity and lack of extra frills is part of its appeal. In spite of its minimal design, it does have a few decent features including stacked wilds and bonus symbols. There’s also an optional paid feature called the Big Bet Game, where you can get extra spins for an additional cost.

Jackpot

The jackpot is worth 50x your initial stake and with bets ranging between 20p and £500 per spin, you could walk off with a big payout.

Rules

With its minimalist appearance, Cash Stax is pretty easy to get to grips with. Here are the main things you need to know:

Coin sizes: Coin sizes range between 0.10 to 20 coins.

Symbols

  • Standard: The standard symbols are the seven, bar and red cross.
  • Wild: The wild is the jester with the word wild written across it. He can be stacked across the reels and substitutes for everything except the gold ring scatter symbol and the white blanks.
  • Scatter: The scatter is the gold ring.

Additional bonus rounds/special rounds:

  • Free Spins: Get a scatter symbol during a spin and it’s transferred to the space above the reels. The number you get in total equals how many free spins you get up to a maximum of 25. This can be re-triggered. Each scatter symbol you get during the free spin round gives you another free spin. If you get enough free spins to fill the meter at the righthand side, you will get a 5x multiplier.
  • Big Bet Game: This optional bonus round gives you an extra five spins on a single set of reels with 30 paylines instead of the usual 10. You will need to pay more, but you can potentially get much bigger rewards.

The bonus rounds are not too bad at Cash Stax, especially considering it’s such a basic game. It’s a shame you need to pay extra for the Big Bet game, but it does increase your potential of winning by a lot so it’s worth the extra outlay.

Graphics and Sounds

Cash Stax slot somewhat resembles a giant game of noughts and crosses, except of course that you can potentially win some good payouts. The graphics are simple and basic with a very retro look and feel. Everything is well laid out and the user interface is logical and easy to navigate around. With only three paying symbols in the base game, you won’t get confused, making it a good slot for beginners.

The sounds are somewhat jarring, in the traditional style of fruit machine sound effects but you can always turn them off if they’re getting on your nerves. Cash Stax is definitely intended for the traditionalists among players and if you prefer the minimalist style of slot and a simple gaming experience, you’ll probably love it.

Conclusion

Cash Stax is very similar to other Barcrest games so if you’re a fan of the rest of their titles, you’ll enjoy playing this one. It is very simple and straightforward with clear symbols and not too many fancy features to get to grips with. The only downside is you could easily get bored with so few symbols and little in the way of bonus games.
