Comprehensive List of Fantasma Games Slots Sites

No one could ever say that Fantasma Games have ever been at the forefront of online casino game development, but then not every company can be a NetEnt, or a Microgaming, or a Playtech. Fantasma Games have been content enough throughout their history to release a steady stream of games of a specific quality, without ever feeling the need to apply themselves to become one of the industry’s leaders.

In fact, not a great deal is known about Fantasma Games, other than their slotting and game releases tend to be somewhat sporadic. Hopefully this article will enlighten a few people about this online casino software-producing company.

Who are Fantasma Games?

You can add Fantasma Games to the list of online casino software companies that originated out of Sweden (some other names on that list, as you will probably be aware – NetEnt, Play’n GO and ELK Studios). The company only came into creation in 2017 and releases only around one slot every three months or so. The reason for this slow replace pace is easy to understand – the company is an independent game studio that only has a dozen employees.

One of the co-founders of Fantasma Games – Fredrik Johansson – came from a video games background as opposed to a gambling one. Therefore Fantasma games release slots with video game-like features as opposed to mundane ones just containing wilds and scatters. Unfortunately, it is a concept that has yet to propel them to forefront of the gambling empire.

One ‘rival’ that has faith in Fantasma Games though is Microgaming. Fantasma has a deal with the slotting giants that allows them to release their slots via Microgaming’s Quickfire platform.

What Makes Fantasma Games Unique?

Firstly, hardly any online slot developers use another company’s software system to release games. As mentioned above, most of Fantasma Games’ titles are created using Microgaming’s in-house HTML5 platform Quickfire. Fantasma Games also has close ties with Leander Games, Yggdrasil Gaming and Big Time Gaming.

Secondly, ALL of Fantasma Games’ games have a very distinct look and feel. It’s not yet possible to find a slot and instantly recognise it as a Fantasma Games title despite this, but maybe that day will one day arrive.

Although they have released 12 slots (at the time of writing) only Serpent Shrine, Hades: River of Souls, Desert Shark, Riviera Star, Neo Spin, Spooky 5000, Chicken Storm, Samurai Ken and Super Sumo are original games. The others are original slots to which Big Time Gaming’s Megaways slot concept has been applied.

What Could Fantasma Games Do Better?

We could say ‘release more slots’ but Fantasma Games remains a small company, so probably that simply is not a possibility. Despite CEO Fredrik Johansson once saying that the company hopes to release six or seven slots per year, that frequency so far has not been forthcoming. In 2019 the company only released Riviera Star as an original game, with Medallion and Flower Fortune being other slots that were re-released with the Megaways makeover.

Also, more variety would not go amiss. Three of Fantasma Games’ releases in 2020Serpent Shrine, Hades: River of Souls and Heroes Hunt Megaways – all had a ‘swords and sorcery’ look and feel. That’s a slots motif that has already been done to death.

Three of the Best – Fantasma Games Games

Hades: River of Souls

Hades River of Souls slot Many slots fans were stunned by the release of Hades: River of Souls in 2020 – not because it was released by Microgaming, but because it was created by one of their affiliated companies; the largely untrumpeted Fantasma Games, of course.

This game featured superb graphics and many unique aspects that made this game eminently playable. The most interesting aspect was probably the appearance above the reels of three bonus reels. Here extra special symbols would appear. The symbols had no effect on normal play but thanks to this game’s avalanche feature these features were capable of falling down to the playing arena where they would grant big bonuses.

The star of the game though is the smiling Skill of Charon. If the skull makes it to the reels it bounces around, removing non-winning symbols and allowing new symbols to fall down into the playing grid.

Heroes Hunt: Megaways

Heroes Hunt: Megaways slot Heroes Hunt was an original game created by Fantasma Games and released via their close partnership with Relax Gaming. In 2020 Big Time Gaming came on board too as the Megaways feature was added to the slot.

This title came with its own lore: The slumbering fiend of Dreadmaw Mountain had awoken after sixty years to rage wrath and annoy people. It was up to the good king Sasha the Sixteenth to despatch the fiend back to whence he came!

This cool-looking slot has the Megaways feature applied but in a unique way – each row (there are six reels) has spaces for six symbols, but not all symbols are revealed.

Flower Fortunes: Megaways

Flower Fortunes: Megaways slot Flower Fortunes is where it all began for Fantasma Games. Although powered by Quickspin, this game was the first to be released with the Fantasma Games logo. This game has also had the Megaways concept applied to it, but with an added dimension. Normal Megaways games have a maximum of 117,649 ways to win, Fantasma Games went mega Megaways and applied a stunning 531,441 ways to win!

This simplistic-looking title also had a unique take on the common Megaways avalanche feature – successive wins (of a minimum size) would expand the growing avalanche feature meter and surge the player through different levels, adding features as it increased. Non-winning spins would reduce the meter, adding another layer of excitement.

Q. Are Fantasma Games another Sweden-based slots provider? Why are there so many?

A. We think it’s because NetEnt has been so successful. When a specific type of company thrives within a particular nation, it’s not uncommon for other people to observe this and think ‘I want a bit of that’ – which is why perhaps we have Play’n GO, Quickspin, ELK Studios, Snowborn Games and Fantasma Games!

Q. How many games have Fantasma Games released?

A. By the end of 2020, Fantasma Games had released one dozen slots titles.

Q. What is Fantasma Games’ most successful title?

A. Fantasma claim that Flower Fortunes – released via Microgaming – is their most popular game. They go as far as claiming it’s one of the top ten best games that has even been branded by Microgaming. YMMV.

The Bottom Line

Pure and simple, we would like to see more Fantasma Games releases. We really did enjoy Hades: River of Souls when it was released, and at the time of writing we were keenly anticipating Serpent Shrine. Fantasma Games have gone a long way in the short time they have been in business and we’d like to see them extend themselves a little more.

We look forwards to more great Fantasma Games titles in the not-too-distant future.
